Catherine Richard-Peters

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same our beloved Catherine Richard-Peters, age 84, of Grand Prairie, Texas met her sunset on Friday, May 24, 2024. Catherine’s sunrise began on February 14. 1940, born to the late Marcus and Jannie Richards. She was one of 14 children.

Catherine was married to the late Melis Peters. They had a son, the late Melis Peters Jr. He was survived by his wife Heather Peters. Catherine outlived all of her siblings except her sister Luvenia Wilson. Her sister and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends will miss her presence as they navigate life apart from her.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at 11:30 AM where she will laid to rest by her husband, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
