Carolyn Sue, an independent adventurer by nature, was interested in many things, including outdoors, traveling the country in her 5th wheel alone for many years. A musician, she played the saxophone and piano, was an inventor and list maker, filling notebooks with her ideas and questions to be answered. After the birth of her only child, Teresa Lynn, she worked at Bell Helicopter, where her beauty was highlighted as the brochure model for the Jet Ranger Helicopter. Sue was civic minded, volunteering hours with the League of Women Voters and her daughter’s Blue Bird troupe. She tried a little of everything during her entrepreneurial years, an executive assistant at UTA Department of Urban Studies, a sales rep for Regina, a medical transcriber and a window washer! For 20 years, Sue was a sponsor for over 100 people in AA, helping so many by giving knowledge, wisdom and hope. Her greatest joy came from her grand children, spending hours making doll clothes and knitting afghans, writing letters and telling stories. She loved the holidays, being with family and always right beside her was her canine baby, Precious. Sue was interesting and inquisitive; talented and thoughtful; she was stubborn and obstinate, but big hearted and loving. She didn’t take to everyone, and everyone didn’t take to her, but once you were in, you belonged to her, wholly and completely. She prided herself on being honest and accurate, always double checking the facts. She was an awesome cook, even though she had no sense of smell, a ferocious sweet tooth, and loved her peanut butter, on anything, anytime! She even belonged to the peanut butter of the month club! Sue loved to laugh and enjoyed all kinds of humor, sarcastic and dark, witty and wry. She loved horror movies, sci-fi thrillers were her favorite. Two things not to be discussed in mixed company, politics and religion, so of course, those were her go to topics, and she loved a good debate with her son-in-law! My mom was the most unique person I ever knew, and I can only hope to be more like her the longer I live. I love you mom, you will forever be missed and loved by all who knew and were loved by you.Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Maurine and older sister Patricia Ann Boler. She is survived by her younger sister, Mary Z. Lewis, her only daughter, Teresa Lynn McCaskill, her son-in-law Mike McCaskill, her 4 grandchildren John, Rachel, Marissa & Max McCaskill, and one great grandchild, Harper Joann McCaskill.
