Bill H. McAnalley, age 78, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2023. Bill was born on April 24, 1944 in San Angelo, Texas, the son of Bill H. McAnalley, Sr. and Stella (Young) McAnalley.
Bill spent the majority of his childhood in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1962. During these years, he enjoyed baseball, chess club, Spanish Club and Cosmetology, along with plenty of mischief to go around. It was during this time that he found his love of Chemistry and other sciences. He then went to Angelo State College where he received a Bachelor degree in Science. He attended New Mexico Highlands University where he received a Master’s of Science degree, and he received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas, in 1978.
He met the love of his life, Tajuana at The Village Apartments, in Dallas Texas in 1974. It was here that he and his lifelong friend, Arlie Simmons, started their business, which Arlie still owns today. Bill and Tajuana were married on August 1, 1976, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Bill and Tajuana settled into married life in Grand Prairie, Texas. Their family grew with their first son, Shawn, followed by Shayne, and then their daughter, Shalon.
His hobbies included watching movies and shows, and being with family, but Dr. Bill really loved his work. He was always researching foods that were missing from our diets. After discovering the many benefits of and the active ingredient in aloe vera, Dr. Bill was dubbed the “Father of Aloe”. Over the last 40+ years, Dr. Bill never quit researching and finding foods and plants across the globe that God gave us to help people live their best lives. He has been published and has received several hundred patents for all of his work. He loved helping people, he loved talking to people, and he made many people’s lives better through his various contributions. His legacy will continue throughout the years as many more of his discoveries will be brought to the world through his family and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Stella McAnalley, and his other lifelong friend, Gary Pittmon.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Tajuana (Green) McAnalley, sons, Shawn McAnalley and wife, Crystal, Shayne and wife, Barbie, daughter Shalon, and husband, Sean Ramirez; grandchildren Aaron, Rhett, Lukas, Karmen, Madynn, Michael, Isabelle, Maya, Neriah, Ethan, and Elijah.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 12:30 am to 2:00 pm at CrossPoint Church of Christ, 3020 Bardin Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Bill’s interment will follow at 3:00 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012.
