Mr. Austin Junior Jarvis died peacefully in Arlington, Texas on March 20, 2015 at the age of 86. Austin is survived by his wife and best friend, Georgia, his four children, James, Rhonda, Harold and Reba, his eight grandchildren, Sheree, Kimberly, Gary, Jon, Greg, Valerie, Jamie and Austin, and his 9 great-grandchildren Eric, Matthew, Lauren, Astrid Marie, Sean, Ethan, Keagon, Jaelynn and Jeremiah. Austin was born on April 29, 1928 in Chillicothe, Texas to Allen Austin Jarvis and Rubey McCoy Jarvis. He graduated from Quanah High School in 1945 and joined the United States Army post-graduation. He married Georgia Lee Waggoner Jarvis in on June 19, 1949. After moving to Grand Prairie, Texas, Austin began working for LTV where he spent 35 years. Following his retirement from LTV, Austin then worked for Dallas County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years. A funeral is scheduled for 10AM on March 26, 2015 at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Grand Prairie, Texas, with a reception to follow. Father Powell will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Austin’s life.
