Arturo Munoz, 67, passed away April 12, 2015. He was born September 11, 1947 and was raised in Bogota, Colombia. On November 18, 1968 he married Dilia Maritza Perez and they moved to Queens, NY to pursue a better life. Arturo graduated from RCA Technical Institute and began his career in electrical engineering. They relocated to Grand Prairie, TX where they raised their 2 children. He worked for Panasonic for 30 years then recently for Lockheed Martin before he retired.
Arturo was an extremely intelligent man. He could talk about anything from the anatomy of the human body to how a combustion engine works, and at the same time he would slide a quirky joke into the conversation. He enjoyed telling jokes and his goal was to make people laugh. He would help anyone and could fix anything passionately. He was extremely resourceful and if you needed it, chances are he had it stashed away in his garage. He was extremely creative and literally could make a pile of trash into art. Arturo was a wonderful listener who enjoyed cooking and he and his wife both shared the love of cumbia dancing. He was very stern, yet still very kind, compassionate, caring and sweet. His family was his world and he always made sure that they were provided for. He was always concerned with their well-being and would help out no matter what. His siblings considered him their best friend and they knew he was always there for him even though he was hours away. Arturo was a caring son and brother and a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He and Maritza were happily married for 47 years and remained in the house his children grew up in Grand Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Munoz and his father, Carlos Arturo.
