Aleyamma was born in Puthuppally, Kerla, India on June 1, 1943. She obtained her nursing degree in North India. She married Rev. Benny K. Thomas on June 6, 1968 and was blessed with five children, two sons and three daughters. Aleyamma loved Jesus, her family, and especially her grandchildren. She was one of the most loving, kind, compassionate, selfless, humble, and hardworking woman you would had ever met.
Her life of faith started at an early age. She left her job in 1971 to do missions work in Ghaziabad (U.P.) India. She and her husband went through many trials and tribulations for the sake of the Gospel. She moved to the United States in 1974 to open up doors of opportunity and create a better life for her family. She worked as a nurse in Veterans Administration Hospital system. Aleyamma worked as an SICU nurse at the Dallas VA Medical Center for 28 years, where she worked until her retirement. She was a tremendous help and support for her husband to be able to share the Gospel in India since 1987. One of her heart’s greatest desires was fulfilled in serving as a missionary with her husband to her home country of India, since 2007. She has touched so many lives and was a pillar in our family.
She is survived by her husband Benny K. Thomas, 5 children: Finny and his wife Andrea, Betty and her husband Shiju, Titus and his wife Nora, Ruby and her husband Aaron and her youngest Beena, 8 grandchildren, and 5 siblings. Her grandchildren brought her great joy in her later years. She fought the good fight, kept the faith, and faithfully finished the race. She will be greatly missed, but will forever be in our hearts. She is dancing joyfully with her Father in Heaven, where there is no more pain. We have the great hope of seeing her again, face to face in heaven.
