It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of one of the kindest men to walk this Earth. On July 22, 2023 Terry Dean McDowell of Fruita, Colorado went to meet Jesus. For 56 years he graced the earth with a joyful smile and a huge heart. Terry was known to many as one of the most giving people. He would give you the shirt off of his back and drop everything if he knew he would be able to help you.
Terry was born to Ronnie and Becky McDowell on January 12, 1967, in Canon City, Colorado. He grew up running the small town and graduated from Canon City High School in 1985. Terry worked for the Department of Energy for 13 years as a security guard officer. Then, for the Mesa County School District as the Warehouse manager for 21 years. While working at these places, he would spread kindness and joy. He was a hard worker and truly enjoyed the work he did.
Terry was always up for anything. Motorcycle ride, I’ll grab my bike. Dinner and drinks, I’ll be there. Help fixing a deck, I’ll grab my tools. Need a carport, I’ll grab the wood. Chocolate milk shake, I’ll go anywhere. Change the oil, I’ll run to the store. Bronco game, I’ll get the tickets.
Terry is survived by his three daughters, whom he was so proud of; Mandy (Paul) Hughes, Jessica (Drake) Uriguen and Alison (Tyler) Morris. In addition to his daughters Terry beamed with delight about his grandchildren; Olivia and Aubrie Hughes, Tony and Bentley Uriguen and Leo Morris. He did life with his brothers; Tim McDowell and Ted McDowell and his mother Becky McDowell. In addition to family, Terry also had many friends who adored him.
Terry will be deeply missed by anyone he came into contact with. We know he will now be riding motorcycles in heaven with his father, Ronnie.
Please join us for Terry’s FAC on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Old Chicago’s and his Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11am at Fellowship Church.
