Teddy James Sanchez

Born in Grand Junction, CO to Ramon Sanchez and Ida (Alire) Sanchez. Teddy spent his early years in Indian Town, Florida and Bond, Colorado; later returning to Grand Junction. Teddy married Dana on February 14, 1990. Together they had two sons, Ryan and Dusty. He started riding race horses as a kid and was a jockey for 16 years, it became a love and passion that lasted his life. Ted was also a concrete finisher and recently started his own company with his sons. Ted passed with his heart full from his newborn grandson, Artist.

He was survived by his loving wife, Dana; sons, Ryan (Christina) and Dusty (Leearra); daughter, Ellisya Martinez of Denver; grandkids, Tayla, Artist, Marques, JaVantae, JaMontea, and Ana-Lisya; he was also a papa to Austyn, Bractyn, Kylynn, Eric, Lucas, and Aceiah; brothers, Ramon (Donna) Sanchez, Rick Martinez, Matt and Ben Lohman; sisters, Mickey (Manuel) Martinez and Patty (Bill) Griego; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ida (Alire) Sanchez and Ramon Sanchez; brothers, Wally Martinez, Elmer Martinez and Tony Freestone; and nephew, Brandon Sanchez.

Rosary will be held Thursday, August 12, at Callahan Edfast Mortuary and 7PM. Services will be Friday, August 13, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10AM. Graveside service to follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
