Shirley Lavonne Brackett

Shirley was born December 26, 1935 to Lloyd and Velma Power in Grand Valley. She is survived by her five children; LaVonne McLaughlin, Shawn Bogard (Dave), Radona Brackett, Scott Brackett (Kathy), Todd Brackett (Tracy); 11 grandchildren; Brook, Raynee, Miruka, Steven, Denise, Danielle, Kortney, Dustin, Devyn, Cash and Chanse; 24.5 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; her brother, Bob and sister, Mary Alice.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; mother, Velma; father, Lloyd; brother, Lloyd; and sister, Lois.

Shirley met Don as children and married in 1955. They were married for 61 years before Don passed in 2016. They were life-long members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Shirley made a career as a school administrator for De Beque Schools, retiring in 2001. She spent her free time knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, canning and gardening. She lived all over the Grand Valley area, but home will always be Mesa, CO where she and Don lived for 18 years.

Services and reception will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday October 10th at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel followed by a graveside service at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
