Ruth J Rogers

Ruth June Morrison Rogers, 97, died on December 21, 2024, at the Beehive Homes Assisted Living in Grand Junction, Colorado. Mrs. Rogers was born on February 26, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio. Her parents were Twila Edythe Sedgwick Morrison and Carl Morrison, both deceased.

Ruth graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio in 1944 and from Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio in 1947. She was a retired Registered Nurse. Ruth married Robert Lawrence Rogers on January 19, 1951, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Robert died on August 16, 2001. They had two sons: Dr. Jon Morrison Rogers who died on April 2, 2012, and was the husband of Traci, and Lawrence Robert Rogers who is the husband of Diane.

Ruth had seven grandchildren: Ashley (Scott) Jean Rogers LaGanga of Arlington, VA, Chase Robert Rogers of Philadelphia, PA, Jillian (Ted) Adele Rogers Piper of Harleysville, PA, Benjamin (Heather) Lawrence Rogers of Jeanette, PA, Kristina Ingrid Rogers of Millvale, PA, Jessica Wilkin Rogers of Columbus, OH, and Steven (Audrey) Joseph Tracy of Valencia, PA. Ruth also had four great-grandchildren: Evelyn Capitola Rogers, Zola Elle LaGanga, Jon Antonin LaGanga, and Margot Elizabeth Tracy.

Ruth was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction, Colorado where she had served as an elder. Before moving to Grand Junction in 1981, she had lived in Marietta, Ohio, Ashtabula, Ohio, and Lakewood, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 7th, 11am at First Presbyterian Church, 3940 27 1/2 Rd, Grand Junction, CO.
