Robert Lawrence Bellm 1932 – 2010 Robert Lawrence Bellm, 78, passed away while in Hospice Care on November 8, 2010. He had been a resident of Grand Junction for over 35 years. Bob was born in Divide, Colorado to Katheryn and Leo Bellm in 1932. He spent his childhood in Carbondale with his beloved grandmother, Anna Boyd. Bob and his first wife (Silvernell) had two children, Donald Eugene and Laura Ann. His second wife was Nina. They had two children, Patricia Ann and Cheryl Lee. Bob then married Erma Beatty and they also had two children, Robert Lee and Brian Keith. He is preceded in death by his wife, Erma and son, Donald. He had 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Raymond, Zelma, Dale, LeRoy, Ernie, Donna, and Betty. In 1952, Bob joined the Army. He served his country as a military policeman during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1957. Bob drove big rig trucks for a while before beginning his career as a bus driver with Continental/ Greyhound Busline. After 32 years of driving and earning several commendations for safe driving, he retired in 2003. Bob enjoyed collecting rare and uncirculated coins and tending to his lawn and roses with his faithful Pug, Sissy, by his side. He was called "Dad" or "Grandpa" by many people in Grand Junction because of his giving nature. You felt like the most special person in his life when he gave you a grin and one of his quick winks. His generosity, wit and laughter will be greatly missed.
