On October 18, 2021, Ray Samuel Amick II, passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Junction, Colorado at the age of 71. At the time of his passing, his wife of 35 years, Bethany Amick, was lovingly by his side.
Sam was born in Huntington, West Virginia on November 24, 1949 to Ray S. Amick and Winifred Eileen Wallace. Among his siblings, he had two sisters, Brenda and Sherry Amick, and two brothers, Martin and Paul Amick.
After graduating high school in 1967 in Tuba City, Az and going off to college, Sam then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 serving in the Vietnam War. After retiring after a 23 year career as a Chief Warrant Officer III, he then went on to complete his college degree in Engineering and worked for Boone County Public Works.
Known to his family and friends as a loving and hard working husband, father, and grandfather, Sam loved working on vehicles, an outdoor enthusiast, and traveling with an endearing faith and love for his family.
Sam is also survived by his three children, Kenneth Amick Pavenyouma, Nathan Amick, and Tasha Gorman. He was blessed with 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Let him shine upon us when the sun rises and watch over us as the sun sets. We love you and you will live in our hearts everyday.
Army military honors will be provided for Ray at the chapel.
