Pat was one of the most special women I have ever known. For the first eight years of my life, she was the closest thing to a grandmother as both of my grandmothers lived far away. She took my sister and me in and loved us like we were her own. I will never forget the many Sunday dinners we had at her house. It was a family tradition to go over to Pat and Papa's house after church on Sunday to eat a family meal. I enjoyed her Sunday school class where I learned many useful tidbits of information and grew in my knowledge of the LORD. I remember that around Christmas time she would always bring out a toy catalog for my sister and me to pick our Christmas gifts from. I will always remember how much she loved me and how patient and kind she was.

Pat was always a second grandma to me who loved and cared about Hannah and me deeply. I remember going to her house for a sleepover while we were young. We couldn’t sleep so she got us milk and teddy grahms and we hung out in the kitchen at 9 pm waiting for us to get sleepy. I cherish the memories we made together.

My sincerest condolences.  Aunt Pat was one of my favorite people.  I always enjoyed spending time with her. In her kitchen or in mine. I dreamt of her last night.  She was smiling and greeting people as they walked up a staircase.  She’s  gone Home.  She’s happy and at peace.  I hope you can find some solace in that.

I. Met Pat when we were  Freshmen. She became a very special friend and great Sister-in-law   We enjoyed our high school years with laughter tears and all the fun those years brought. I do remember one incident that was so not Pat. Seniors did a play for the public and raise money for ditch day. The afternoon of the play 10 seniors ditched school. And Pat was one of them. Needless to say her Mom was NOT. a happy camper. I love and I will miss you               Darlyne

As an 11 year old girl in 6th grade, I was so excited to have "finally" reached the age to join the YBC youth group. The following summer, the youth group began planning a trip to Grand Rapids, MI to teach Vacation Bible School. Jim and Pat were a very integral part of  this trip from it's beginning to the return home. For the return trip, a few sight seeing stops had been planned, one of them being Chicago, IL to experience amazing pizza and a visit to the Sears Tower.  While walking down the streets of downtown Chicago that night, Pat took hold of that terrified small town girl's hand. I'll never forget the blanket of security and protection I felt from her tenderness and care in that moment. That was the first of many memories I have of Pat showing compassion and kindness to all who had the honor of knowing her.  She was a  shining example of a true Woman of God and I am blessed forever by having known her.

Pat was a second mom to me and a grandma to my girls. She was always ready to take care of Hannah and Olivia.  

Pat took me under her wing when ny mom and dad moved away. She was so excited when I finally found someone and was corresponding with Jim 
 She was always so interested in the letters I received from him. Pat and Jim were also the first people we told when Jim proposed to me.

Very sorry.She was a special person. During the 15 years from 2005 that I spent the summer in Toponas,we picked a lot of choke cherries and servis berries together. I believe one summer we set a record for making choke cherry jelly My Pat and myself with her cooked down choke cherries and made 93 jars of jelly in 8 hour span..Her and I went to many farmers market days in Steamboat  We also went to many bingo nights together at the American Legion. She will be dearly missed.  Ron Woodcock
