Nina Mae Welborn, age 71, of Grand Junction, CO, left for her heavenly home surrounded by her husband and family. She gave up her battle with COPD and lung cancer at HopeWest Hospice Center in Grand Junction, CO, on March 27, 2014.
Nina was born to Lutellus and Irene (Angel) Hubbard in Cedaredge, CO, on October 23, 1942. She was the youngest of 6 children, 4 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her brother, Alvin (Wilma) Hubbard of Salt Lake City, UT.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Harry Welborn (married in 1994) of Grand Junction, CO. She married Don Brendlinger (divorced) in 1961 and had 3 daughters, Shanon (Craig) Clinkenbeard, Shaun (Tracy) Leach, and Sharon (Steve) Hulsey. She married John Weybright in 1979 (widowed in 1990) and gained 3 more children, Sandy (Tim) Dudley, Dan (Twyla) Weybright (divorced), and Joe (Jami) Weybright. Her legacy includes 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She attended schools in the Delta area and graduated from Fruita Monument High School. She worked for C&F Foods for many years, both in the stores and in their main offices. Nina retired from the Grand Junction Regional Center in 2009, after 18 years of selfless service. She enjoyed spending her time with family, gardening, camping, and fishing. She also loved bowling, working crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, and she loved NASCAR and Colorado Rockies baseball.
