Corinna was born in Delta to Tony and Juanita Valdez on December 23, 1939. She attended school in the Delta School District. She met and married the love of her life, Ramon Salazar, in 1960 and they were together 54 years prior to her passing. Together they enjoyed camping, vacationing and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Corinna was a homemaker and a caregiver of many children throughout the years. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, cooking, family but most of all she loved her grandchildren and was so excited about the birth of her first great-grandchild this coming May.
Corinna is survived by her husband Ramon Salazar and two daughters Vickie (Jim) Suminski of Rifle and Connie Vazquez of Grand Jct.; four grandchildren David Suminski and Amy (Casie) Dunlap all of Rifle and Breanna Tanori of Grand Jct.; two brothers Paul (Rosie) Valdez of Grand Jct., Val (Jenny) Valdez of California, and seven sisters Ruth Salazar, Louise (Ben) Munoz, Christina Valdez and Monica (Steve) Matthews all of Delta, Margaret Williamson of Montrose, Jane (John) Sandoval of Grand Jct., and Katherine (Mike) Olson of California.
Corinna is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Juanita; one brother Gilbert; and two sisters Delfina Dvorak and Della Valdez.
She was loved by many and will be extremely missed by us all.
The family would like to thank all who have showed their very generous support this past week.
Visitation will be held at Victory Life Church on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 9-10:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow immediately at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Bob Cook officiating.
