The youngest daughter on that Port Crescent, Michigan farm was more likely to be found climbing the cherry and apple trees or playing baseball with her 7 siblings than learning to cook or sew.
Martha (Chaplinski) & Benjamin Kuhn’s daughter attended Michigan State University, worked in a Detroit music store and then Packard Motor Car Company. In 1947, newlyweds Mary & “Bud” Ralph J. Lipinski began the growth of their flower shop and family.
Tim, Carol, Camille and Thom’s Mom taught the neighborhood kids to play tennis. That game gave her joy, playing it until she was 85 years old. Mom could switch from tennis shoes to high heels readily and always conveyed a natural elegance.
Dignified, determined and sociable, Mary and Bud shared an active work life in the Floral Industry. Member of Detroit Women’s Florist’s Club, Allied Florists Assoc. of Metropolitan Detroit, Society of American Florists, Florists Transworld Delivery, & American Floral Services- Teleflora.
Mom’s Catholic Faith, the staff at the Atrium which was her residence since 2010, Comfort Keepers, and Hospice of Grand Junction, Colo., all came to our aid allowing Mom to transition to her heaven with the natural grace and dignity that was her character.
We love you Mom.
