Marvin was born January 26, 1932 in Jacksonville, TX to Hosea and Mattie Foster. He was the third of four children and the only son. When Marvin was 12 the family moved to Clovis, New Mexico. At the age of 15 he graduated from Pleasant Hills High School. In December of 1949 Marvin met Dorothy Burrow and married her four months later on April 23, 1950. In 1951, Marvin joined the U.S. Navy and served until 1955. After his discharge he worked at Associated Industries in North Hollywood until 1960 when he began a career in real estate. Marvin and Dorothy had 2 children, Donald Marvin Foster (1951) and Kenneth Wayne Foster (1955). In 1982 Marvin decided to further his education. He and Dorothy moved to Planview, TX so he could attend Wayland Baptist University. There he earned a degree in Church Business Administration and Religious Education. In 1984, after graduation, Marvin and Dorothy moved back to Hemet, California where Marvin worked as the Minister of Education and Administration, at First Southern Baptist Church. Following retirement Marvin continued to volunteer at First Baptist Church, San Jacinto. Marvin enjoyed teaching Sunday school classes, spending time with his family, helping others and sharing the gospel with whoever he met. Marvin is remembered by his family for his fierce and unwavering love, grace and compassion. He is survived by his sister, Erline Davis; his daughter-in laws, Marilyn Foster and Heidi Foster; his six grandchildren, Kim Nyberg, Kenneth Foster, Kristin Illig, Mikala Lasley, Jonathan Foster and David Foster; his twelve great-grandchildren, Cole Nyberg, Cody Nyberg, Hayden Foster, Katelyn Illig, Carson Illig, Grant Lasley, Ava Lasley, Noel Lasley, Lincoln Lasley, Hayes Lasley, Nora Foster and Jedidiah Foster; and his one great-great-grandchild Kianna Nyberg.
