Marjorie Lou Spehar

She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1968 and went on to earn her LPN from Eastern Iowa Community College in 1969. She continued her education at Arapahoe Community College in Colorado and graduated from Mesa State College in 1979 with an Associates of Science in Nursing.

On June 7, 1980, Marjorie married Timothy W. Spehar at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. Together, they had two sons, Jason and Ryan. Marjorie worked as a Registered Nurse for various hospitals, cardiologists, and the School District Special Education Department.

Marjorie is survived by her sons, Jason (Shane, Andrew, and Timothy E.) of Whitewater, CO, and Ryan (Sara, Weston, and Olivia) of Mesa, CO. Her sisters, Patricia, Deborah, LaVonne & Connie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Doris Ellison, her husband, Timothy W. Spehar, and her sister, Gail Olsen.

A survivor of both breast and lung cancer, Marjorie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Denver Broncos. Marjorie will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in Crested Butte, Colorado.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.

A memorial service for Marjorie will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary & Crematory, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, Colorado 81505.
