Margaret Roberta Williams was born in Lamar, Colorado on March 26, 1925 to E.E. Baker and S. Mae Holmes, and passed peacefully into heaven on January 20, 2020 at Hopewest Hospice in Grand Junction, CO at the age of 94, and is currently celebrating her recent arrival with her husband, parents and 2 brothers, all who have passed before her.
Margaret was born and raised in Colorado and lived in Colorado, Kansas, Utah, Idaho and North Carolina.
She attended Lamar Elementary School and Lamar Union High School in Lamar, Colorado.
She travelled through Europe and visited Germany twice.
Margaret had various jobs but her favorite was for the USDA (Forest Service) at many locations and retired from the Lakewood office in 1989. She received many awards from the Forest Service as well as from the Town Council in Fairplay, Colorado.
In 1965 she was a convert to the church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ and a member of the Grand Mesa Ward in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Her second favorite job was being elected President of the local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, which she held until her passing.
She was the eldest of 7 children, 4 boys; Edwin C Baker (deceased) (Beth) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gerald Baker (passed away in infancy) Richard F Baker (Fran) of Goose Creek, South Carolina and G. Roy Baker (Barbara) of Roy, Utah and 3 girls; Gwyneth M Johnson (Bob) of Universal City, Texas and Amelia Anne Omer (Don) of Centerville, Utah.
Margaret married Ted Williams at the First Christian Church, Lamar, Colorado on July 12, 1942. Ted passed away on September 22, 1985.
Margaret and Ted had two daughters, Leona M Braswell and Dorothy Summerville.
She is survived by her daughters, 5 grandchildren, Erik Braswell (Karrie), Robert W Gibson, Tina L Williams, Stacey L Martin (Brent) and David M Williams; 11 great- grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Cam Williams (Mike / Max) and Linda Williams (Gene)
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 26, 2020 in the cultural hall at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3076 E ½ Road, Grand Junction, Colorado 81504.
