Lyndon was born on July 5, 1956, in Delta, Colorado, to Charles Cook and Frances Gwendolyn (Horn) Fogg. He spent his childhood in Grand Junction, and graduated from Grand Junction High School. On March 30, 1974, Lyndon enlisted in the US Army, and would devote the next 21 ½ years of his life to distinguished military service. He was a part of the 82nd Airborne and Delta Force; and at the time of his retirement had achieved the rank of Sergeant Major, and was awarded with numerous medals throughout his career. Before settling in Grand Junction, he lived in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Ogden, Utah, and Karlsrhue and Worms, both in Germany. After leaving the Army, Lyndon attended Colorado Christian University in Grand Junction, where he earned an Associate’s Degree. He later became the Director of Information Technology at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center. Lyndon was a fly fisherman, hunter and firearm enthusiast. He also enjoyed camping, hiking, and biking. Lyndon was an avid reader, and could speak intelligently on almost any topic. He loved his family, and was so proud of each one of them. And as his family and friends will tell you, Lyndon was greatly loved, greatly respected, and will be deeply missed.
Lyndon is survived by his son, Nathan (Anne) Fogg of Aurora; daughter, Robyn (Anthony) Casias of Montrose; brothers, John (Susan) Fogg of Denver, and Jim Nelson of Chattaroy, Washington; sisters, Loretta (Bill) Cullum of Grand Junction, and Mary Latimer of Hemet, California; seven grandchildren, Mia Simin, Michaela Archuleta, Austin Ross, Sean Fogg, Mandie Ross, Abigail Fogg, and Gabriel Casias. He is preceded in death by Charles and Frances Fogg, Irene Nelson, and Peggy McLeroy.
A military honors service will take place on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made in Lyndon’s name to Special Operations Warrior Foundation at www.specialops.org.
