Lawrence Benjamin Maestas

Larry was born on January 23, 1935, in McPhee, Colorado, to Joseph B. Maestas and Caroline O. Archuleta, and was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church on February 2, 1935.

Larry married Roberta O. Cockrell in Aztec, New Mexico on November 7, 1955. They were together 54 years before her passing on August 19, 2009.

Larry is also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Claude; and siblings, Rudy Maestas and Dorothy O’Bryant. He is survived by his children, Dean Maestas, Vicki Ives, and Heidi Maestas; his siblings, David Maestas, and Marci Roundtree; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Larry was a soldier, world traveler, and lifelong student.

Services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 3 p.m.
