He received an honorable discharge from the army, when it was discovered that he had Muscular dystrophy. Even though he was in pain daily, you never heard him complain about anything.
In November 1976 right before Thanksgiving. Kenny was playing his guitar at Benhams with Harold Lewis, the father of Linda Lewis. Linda walked in and met Kenny and it was a whirlwind romance from that day forward. Kenny married Linda December 25, 1976. The two of them lived in Rico Colorado for a short amount of time until Kenny was called back to work at Ted's Construction in Rock Springs Wyoming driving the 33 Scraper which was one of his all time favorite things to do.
Kenny and Linda had one son, Kenneth Lee Finley Jr. born February 11, 1980. In 1983 Kenny and Linda moved to Clifton Colorado where he spent the remaining years of his life. As his muscular dystrophy progressed Kenny really enjoyed playing wheelchair basketball. He even went to California where he won several trophies. Fishing, horses, video games, coin collecting and monster movies were also things he loved. His favorite thing was playing the guitar. He was self taught and played for many years. He was truly heartbroken when he could not play it any more.
In 2001 Kenny got his Dachshund that he named Ozzy. He loved that little dog more than life itself. He brought Ozzy home the day after Christmas 2001. They loved each other so much. Ozzy passed away August 11, 2011 from diabetes. Kenny loved family so much. He loved his parents and his brother Raymond. He had many stories of him and Raymond as children. Most of those stories ended up with them being chased by some animal. He was a wonderful uncle to all his nieces and nephews and even his great nieces and nephews.
