1946 – 2023
Kathleen Ann O'Neill Weimer, our sweet wife and mother peacefully passed away at the age of 76 on September 5, 2023 surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born on October 6, 1946 in Provo, Utah as the oldest child of her loving parents, Thomas Ivan O'Neill and Afton Shirlene Thompson.
Kathy grew up in Orem, Utah and graduated from Orem High School where she enjoyed all outdoor sports.
She met and married the love of her life, Zene J. Weimer, August 19, 1967 in Orem Utah. They lived in California while Zene was in the military until Sept 30 1969. While there, Kathy worked for Hughes Aircraft.
They moved to Nucla, CO after military life where they raised three sons and built a wonderful life together. Kathy's unconditional love for her children was surpassed only by her love for her grandchildren. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family.
Her home was open for her extended family to come and share treasured memories of ranch life. Kathy spent many happy hours around the table playing games with loved ones. Family baseball games, traveling to Ouray to swim and picnics were always a must when family gathered.
Kathy loved to snow and water ski, play softball, attend school events, work in her yard, and enjoyed traveling and dancing.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she worked in the library for many years when her health allowed.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Zene; children, Ryan (Darcy), Matthew (Catorina) of Nucla, CO, Aaron (Stacey) of Surprise AZ. Grandchildren, Madalyn, Gabreal, Wyatt, Aiden and Kyndle. Her Sister Peggy (Ted) Lockhart, St George, UT and many extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Shirlene, grandson Nathaniel Zene Weimer and her brother Kelly O'Neill.
Though she has passed, her warmth and love will remain. The happy memories we have of good times spent with her will live on.
