John was born to Ronald Dick and Phyllis (Hatherhill) Woods, July 27, 1956, in San Diego, CA. He attended Monte Vista High School. He was a resident of Clifton, CO., for 27 years.
After having worked as a stucco mason, John was considered semi-retired. He was a devoted family man. He enjoyed drag racing with his son, fishing and hunting, as well as riding free on his Harley. He recently began painting.
John is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Woods, of Clifton; brothers Ronald Woods (CA) and Gary Nippins (AZ); sister Pamela Tannahill (CA); four sons, Daniel Hillary (Tennessee), Derek Woods (Grand Junction), Christopher Hillary (Indiana) and Johnny Woods Jr. (Fruita); two daughters, Charlene Miller and Tara Stewart ( both of Clifton) and 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor October 25, 2021. The family asks for his friends to gather at the Triple Tree Tavern in Clifton at 4:00 p.m., for a final ride to the Grand Junction Eagles Lodge.
