November 26, 1929 – July 28, 2015
JoAnne Petefish
June 23, 1934 – July 31, 2015
Charles passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. JoAnne followed Charles into Heaven on July 31, 2015, fifty-six hours later. Chuck and JoAnne began their love story in Montrose, CO. They were married 63 years. Their first home was in Ouray, CO. Chuck was a barber and JoAnne was a clerk. They also lived in Dove Creek, CO, and Moab, UT. They made their final home in Grand Junction, where they raised their family and used their business skills in barbering and bookkeeping to open a Beauty Supply Warehouse. In 1977 Chuck and JoAnne opened The Academy of Beauty Culture on 30 Road and North Avenue, along with two partners. They spent countless hours and many years helping others become successful, including their four children.
They had many interests which included biking, woodworking, and beading. They loved traveling to different places and making new friends. They were true examples of love, honesty, and helping others reach their dreams. The greatest trait they left their friends and family is the importance of a relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Charles and JoAnne are survived by their daughter, Rhonda Porter of Grand Junction; and sons, Andy Petefish of Devils Tower, WY, Eldon Petefish of Grand Junction, CO, and Wayne (Kathy) Petefish of Grand Junction. Their grandchildren are Raygan (Wade) Janssen, Amber (Luke) Mason, Bill (Lupe) Petefish, Lisa (Emma) David, Andy Petefish, and John Petefish. They were blessed with six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. JoAnne is survived by three brothers, Orley, Preston, and Carl Dixon.
