Janet Marie Poulin Williams (Currie) beloved mother to three lovely daughters, Celeste, Barbara (Bruno) and Ginger (Kevin), took her last breath and returned home to her beloved Christ Jesus on March 14th,2023. Lovingly and sweetly she surrendered her burdens and had the wisdom and grace to say her last words of love to her family, children, caregivers and furry friend, her little brown dog, Gunther. She spoke words of love, peace and forgiveness.
Janet Marie Poulin was the eldest daughter to Gladys and Red “Dorm” Poulin. Born in Delta, Utah on December 14th, 1947. Her parents met during WW11, when Red was on return from the “Jungaleers” aboard an aircraft carrier and docked in Perth Australia. Grandpa was a Ham radio operator and Grandma Gladys worked as a telephone switchboard operator where they chatted several times. Grandpa decided to come ashore and meet the Down-under Gal from Adelaide, Australia, not quite a KIWI but a tart none the less.
Gladys Morris became Gladys Poulin and proudly received her United States Citizenship right here in Grand Junction and was sworn in and took her oath of God and Country in 1961.
Janet, a classically trained Pianist loved Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven and all the greatest. With a natural musical ear, she loved singing with her children and often sang along while her son in law played the guitar.
A fine seamstress, she learned garment creation from Gladys, her mother. She made graduation dresses, formal wear, office wear and suits for her daughters and others. She also made her three daughters a family heirloom recipe book and designed a unique quilt for each. Lincoln logs in browns and cinnamon, cosmic star dust in purples, aqua-marines and blue, and Victorian creams and lace for her final quilt, her dear friend Denise, whom she enjoyed doing many projects with, will adopt and finish as an act of love. Not only was Janet a wonderful, talented woman and a beloved friend to many; she was a devoted mother. She also was a gifted artist who found joy in expressing herself through various other mediums. Her creative endeavors included oil painting, water color, ceramics, pottery, crocheting, making photo albums, playing any instrument available, singing, etc. She poured her heart and soul into her family, and her passion for the arts was truly inspiring. We were so lucky to have known such a remarkable person.
Janet overcame many health challenges and always rose in strength. A champion and advocate for her independence as well as for her interdependence. Being connected to her Faith and spirituality was a daily joy. Her favorite time of day was to greet the son (sun) rise.
Janet's family extends a warm invitation to all to join us in expressing our profound gratitude as we reflect on the love and joy that her life gifted to so many. We humbly ask that you come together with us to honor her memory and cherish the legacy that she has left behind.
She gave a final prayer and heartfelt hope to her daughters;
May you sow and reap kindness joy and happiness with your lives and Remember these things remain: Faith, Hope and LOVE.
The greatest of these is LOVE.
I love you
Your Mother.
