Born in Colorado Springs, CO on 5/6/56, Honey, as her family affectionately knew her, was then adopted by the Fosters; being raised as a Foster child undoubtedly gave ‘family’ a unique and special meaning to her.
After graduating from cosmetology school, Jacquie worked as a beautician in Western Colorado for over 50 years, weaving her colorful spirit through countless lives and rooting herself into the backbone of her community.
She found her way to Grand Junction in 1974 where she would meet her soulmate, Philip, and share a lifelong commitment to one another. They raised 5 wonderful children together and are blessed with an abundance of grandchildren. A protector and provider to family and friends alike, she was always prepared to defend what mattered to her the most. An indelible mark was etched into each and every heart she touched.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Philip Sawyer; one brother, Ron Foster; five children, Chris Baker (Meleta), Juanita Sawyer, Tony Sawyer, Nick Sawyer (Amber), and Nyoka Paronto (Mike); 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Landmark Baptist Church on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00pm with a reception to follow.
