Harlan Bensley was born on December 23, 1933, in St Paul, Minnesota. His life overflowed with passion for his faith, family, and gymnastics.
Harlan's dedication to his family was evident throughout his life. He met his wife, Alice, in his senior year of college, and their love story spanned over six decades.
Together, they raised their children and instilled in them the values they cherished.
Harlan's passion for gymnastics began in his youth and continued throughout his life. He started as a gymnast in high school and continued advancing in college. His gift was encouraging others through coaching gymnastics and mentoring young athletes. He co-founded Grand Junction Gymnastics with his son, creating a space for children to develop their skills and love for the sport.
Harlan's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He actively shared his belief in Jesus Christ and strongly desired others to experience this relationship with Jesus too. He desired that others would know the Biblical truth that God is the Creator of the universe, and not man’s manifesto of how the universe came to be.
Harlan will be remembered for his jokes, work ethic, and adventurous nature. He never knew a stranger, and if they were, they weren’t for long. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
