Gary was born on September 11,1949 in Grand Junction, Co. He married at a young age and was a wonderful father to his 2 children. When his family was young they moved to Denver due to declining economics in the grand valley. He worked many years for a very well known seafood distributor out of Seattle. Making high end deliveries and many friends along the way of each of his days. He was a very loyal man, hard working, terrific father, proud and very artistically gifted. He always felt this grand valley to be home born and raised. Gary sold his home in denver when he retired and moved back to GJ just a few years ago. Until his health began to fade, Gary had a natural and amazing art ability in painting and wood carving. He loved camping and fishing, telling fun life stories with endless laughter. In addition to providing for his family and many years of hard work, Gary was a skilled craftsman with home improvements, he appreciated a nice garden, freshly mowed lawn and good bbq with a cold bev on a hot day with family and friends. Just good times and shootin the s#$@. He will always be remembered as a strong and kind man with a very big heart.
Gary is survived by his 2 brothers, Tom and Jim Ramsay; his 2 children; Daughter, Connie Lee Williams and son, Daniel Wayne Ramsay. Gary has 2 grandsons, Ronnie and Dustin Roth; Ronnie and his wife Kristi gave him 2 great granddaughters, Rosalyn and Reagan Roth. He has many surving cousins, nieces and nephews who he has always had close to heart.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Iola Ramsay, his brothers Bob Wellman and Wayne Ramsay, and his sister Sherry Allen.
We would like to thank Hopewest for the tender and very thoughtful hospice care they provided to Gary and his family. And a genuine thank you to Martins Mortuary for their supportive kindness, support and dignity.
Gary did not wish to have a memorial or services. His family believes a family reunion, bbq, potluck and endless laughter like old times this summer is much needed to remember all of our families lost loved ones.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinMortuary.com for the Ramsay family.
