Mr. Beckwith was a banker.

Survivors include one son, Kirk of Palisade; one daughter, Nancy Beckwith of Palisade; one brother, Bill of Palisade; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ed Beckwith, Jr.

October 20, 1924 - January 4, 2015

Ed was born October 20, 1924, to Edward and Hollis Beckwith, in Palisade, Colorado. He passed away, peacefully, at HopeWest on January 4, 2015.

Ed's childhood was spent in Cameo, Colorado before moving to Palisade in the eighth grade. He graduated from Palisade High School in 1942.

In 1943, he was drafted and served four years in the Army during WWII. While on leave in September, 1945, he married Phyllis Hampton, his high school sweetheart. They had two children, Kirk and Nancy. They were happily married for 61 years.

In 1946, Ed went to work for the First National Bank in Grand Junction and continued until his retirement in 1985. His hobbies included: hunting, fishing, hiking and yard work.

Survivors include son, Kirk (Rosemary); daughter, Nancy; brother, Bill; granddaughters, Erin and Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Abbi and Zach. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis.

A memorial open-house will be held Saturday, January 17th, 2015, from 2 - 4:00 p.m., at the Beckwith home in Palisade (383 West First Street), to celebrate Ed's 90 years of life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to HopeWest Hospice, 3090 B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506.
