Beverly Coleman, Age 81 of Grand Junction, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center.
Bev was born on June 9, 1933 to Fred and Elizabeth Coles in Evanston, Wyoming. She graduated from Evanston High School in 1951. She then attended the University of Wyoming. Bev met LeRoy Coleman her junior year of College and they were married a week after they graduated on June 18, 1955.
Bev and Leroy moved to Grand Junction in 1959 where they started Western Implement Company with LeRoy’s father and raised their three sons.
Bev’s greatest joy in life was being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a woman who never complained, and always gave unconditionally to others. She had a great sense of humor; her loving, generous spirit will be missed tremendously, as will her famous chocolate chip cookies. Bev cherished times with her family. She loved to golf, bowl, fish and travel. After retirement, she and LeRoy enjoyed their winter home in Mesquite, Nevada.
Bev leaves behind her husband of fifty-nine years, LeRoy; sons, Jim (Debbie) Coleman, Bob (Kim) Coleman, Gene (Karla) Coleman, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with one on the way, and her mother-in-law, Vera Coleman.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, three brothers, and two sisters.
An informal graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Bev and Leroy’s home, 4040 Ptarmigan Piazza, from 3-5 pm, March 25th.
Memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice, 3090 B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81506.
