Betty was born on December 20, 1941, in Petaluma, California, from the union of Wallace and Isabel (Scarrow) Myers. When she was three years old, the family moved to Morrisania Mesa, Parachute, Colorado, and she graduated from Grand Valley High School.
She married Adrian Gilleland and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1984. She met Charles Taylor and they married on September 27, 1985, and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2011.
She was a certified Nurse Aide for thirty years beginning her career at Clagett Memorial Hospital in Rifle, Colorado, and later working at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Betty has been a resident of Grand Junction since 1988, and previously had lived in Rifle and Silt, Colorado. She was of the Christian faith and loved crocheting, puzzles, puzzle books, drives in the mountains, and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind two daughters, Bonnie (Floyd Bashant) Grant of Glade Park, Colorado, and Rhonda (Lawrence) Burke of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Adrian Gilleland and Chuck Taylor; a daughter, Connie Perea; and a son, Robert Gilleland.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Battlement Mesa Cemetery, Intersection of Stone Quarry Road and County Road 302 (Underwood Lane) Parachute, CO 81635
