Audriannah Lillian Eastland (“Charlie”) passed away quietly at Denver Hospice in Denver, Colorado on April 6, 2024 after complications from a bone marrow transplant to treat relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She had been battling cancer since 2020, a fight that she undertook with unequalled courage and grace, facing every unfair adversity with her distinctive dry wit and quiet resolve.
Though her life was cut far too short, she lived it fully through her art and was rarely seen without one of her hundreds of sketchbooks. Over years of dedication to her craft, she developed a level of skill that inspired everyone who witnessed it. She herself took inspiration from an eclectic array of video games and role-playing games, for which she developed her own stories, characters, and worlds and shared them with her friends. In addition to her games and artwork, Audri loved music and sang in school and community choirs. She chose the name “Charlie” for herself in grade school to avoid confusion with other “Audreys.” Equal parts precocious and reserved, Audri was a unique soul who valued individuality and originality, and she achieved those, as well as a wisdom well beyond her years.
Audri was born on November 19, 2001 in Grand Junction, Colorado and is survived by her mother Jennelle Eastland, father Matthew Eastland, brother Theryn Eastland, step-mother Sara Trappett, step-brother Ken Trappett, all four natural grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love and admire her too deeply to ever adequately express.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary
