May 18, 1936 – August 7, 2015
Adella, 79, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on August 7, 2015.
Adella was born in Grove Spring, MO where she spent the majority of her childhood years. She lived in Paonia, CO where she raised her kids and became the owner of the Cave Café for many years. Life led her to Craig, CO where she was married to Jack Rowley in 1982. In 1984 she and Jack moved to Colorado Springs where they became the owners of Acona Welding. In 1999 they retired and moved to Grand Junction, CO.
She was known by all that loved her as a hard worker, someone who loved her family and loved to laugh, even if the joke was on her. She lived her life with an optimistic approach, and loved being around people. She was a “prim and proper” lady that carried a lot of pep in her step and her competitive side would show in her love of playing cards, dominos and Chinese checkers. She loved life and her favorite season was spring “because that’s when everything comes back to life”. She will be missed greatly by the love of her life and best friend, Jack, her children, and many family members and friends.
Della is survived by her husband, Jack Rowley, sons; Robert Bailey and wife Sherie, Alan Rowley and wife Jan, daughters; Gwen Sandidge and husband Robbie, Jackie Murray and husband Gary, siblings; David Harris, Tim Harris, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death are her parents; Ermal and Annie, sibling Johnny, and many cousins including Norma (considered a sister).
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, August 15, at 10:00 am at New Covenant Baptist Church, 3196 F Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504. Burial will be held at the Hayden, CO Cemetery at 3:30 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Hope West Hospice, 3090 N. 12th, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
