The son of John Francis & Violet Vivian Ferguson-Marchand-Carson, Francis was born Wednesday, November 14, 1951 in the family cabin on Linx Creek, Ferry County, Washington.
A proud member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, Gene held various occupation, including – maintaining the houseboats at Keller’s Marina, as an officer with the Colville Tribal Police and a logger.
Known as a “true caveman”, Gene was never happier than when he was in the out of doors - far from civilization hunting, fishing or just relaxing at “21 Mile” or “Frosty Meadows” campgrounds with his family.
Preceded in death by his father: John Francis Carson; mother: Violet Vivian Ferguson-Marchand-Carson-Seylor; daughters: Lisa Carson and Francine Carson; and siblings: William Marchand, Sharon Marchand, Dena Carson and Debbie Carson; Francis’ legacy lives on through his children: Charity Carson (John Marchand), Donald Carson, Amanda Carson (Zach Mac) and Kristie Weaver; Eleven grandchildren; brothers: Christopher “Kit” Carson, Ronald Carson (Clara), Raymond Carson (“Mo” Milanda) and Robert Marchand (Renae) as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Francis’ dressing was held at 9:00am, Friday, February 24, 2023 at Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee, Washington. His wake began at 7:00pm that evening at St. Michael’s Mission in Inchelium, Washington. Funeral services were at 10:00am, Saturday, February 25, 2023 also at St. Michael’s Mission. His family chose cremation to follow.
