ROBBINS, William (Bill) – age 83, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Florida. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 Columbia Drive, Durand, Michigan with Fr. Jonathan Perrotta officiating. Burial follows at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation at church from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Bill was born May 28, 1933 in Flint, Michigan the son of the late Percival and Mildred (Wing) Robbins. He served in the U.S. Army in the early 1950’s and was stationed in Germany. Bill married Patricia November 10, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1998. He later married Hazel on February 21, 2009 and she preceded him in death in 2014. He resided at Leisure Lake, Durand, Michigan during the summer months and spent the winter months at Lake Wales, Florida. Bill retired from Buick Motor Division in 1990. Surviving are: children, David Robbins, Terry (Debbie) Robbins, Connie (John) Holohan, Laurie Fahr and Shellie Hardy; step-children, Larry (Donna) Mitchell, Laura (Brian) McGovern, Ruth (Rocky) Lasley and Edith Mitchell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, June (George) Porritt; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Hadden) Robbins, and Connie Robbins. Bill enjoyed summer boat rides, captaining his ship, and leaves behind first mates Becky and Bob July. Bill was also preceded in death by his brothers Allen, Jack, and Sam.
