Stephen Joseph MacDonald

Stephen J. MacDonald, age 68, died on Sunday, January 8, 2023. A private family remembrance will be held. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make contributions in memory of Stephen J. MacDonald, may do so to Powers Catholic High School Education Fund, 1505 W. Court St., Flint, MI 48503.

Mr. MacDonald was born in Flint, MI, on December 26, 1954, to Robert James MacDonald and Madeline Parkhurst MacDonald. Stephen graduated from Luke M. Powers High School and James Madison College of Michigan State University.

Mr. MacDonald was preceded in death by his parents Bob & Madeline MacDonald, his elder sister Marcia MacDonald Vick, and his elder brother R. Duncan MacDonald. Stephen leaves to cherish his memory his loving son Stephen Joseph MacDonald. He is survived by many siblings and their spouses: Chrissie & Steve Hudgens of Fenton; Pat & Mike McGonigle of Flint; Brian & Ginny MacDonald of Linden; Amy Simon of Grand Blanc; Tim & Ami MacDonald of Grand Blanc; Mary & Jim Luxem of Lake Forest, IL; brother-in-law Bruce Vick and his wife Nancy; and sister-in-law Jacqueline P. MacDonald. Stephen is survived by dozens of cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He is also survived by Kym R. MacDonald whose care, kindness and devotion during his long health battles brought him great comfort.

The family thanks the staff at McLaren Flint and its hospice service for their dedication and compassion.

Stephen will be dearly missed by all his loved ones.
