A year ago my husband died peacefully. We in his family.  Wife, Sons, Daughters-in-law , and grandchilren miss him very much. Today we share memories and enjoy looking at his carvings of birds and ducks.

when our familly was vacationing at VanEttan lake Bob and I went fishing.  Those  we caught we put on a stringer-tied one end to the boat and dropped the now dead fish back into the water.  Someone came by and asked if we had caught any.  I reached was over the boat and  down to get the stringer----but fell out of the boat into the water.  I could not swim and Bob (who could) jumped out of sthe boat and grabbed me by my hair and pushed me back into the boat!

Dear Grandpa, 

I already miss you. Some of my greatest life memories are coming up to Michigan to ride bikes around the cul de sac in front of your house and listening to the stories of how you met Grandma. I know it's cliche' to say this, but you are definitely one of a kind. A true gentleman, young at heart, and a hero. 

I'm so glad I had these past few years to see you more than I ever have before. You were always there for the big events in my life, I wish I could have been there for you at the end. After this pandemic, I'll be sure to take care of Grandma . She does carry a big stick though.

Grandpa was my hero and one of the greatest men I knew. He had the biggest heart and was always able to light up any room with his presence. I am going to miss him dearly and he will always have a special place in my heart. I am a very proud grandson to have the honor of being named after him and also carry on his creative gene into my own art practice.

I love you Grandpa and I’ll always cherish our memories together forever.

My brother was eight years older than me but he taught me how  to ride a bike, hit and catch a soft ball, throw and catch a football,  put a worm on a fish hook,  play pinochle, and drive a car.  For my all "A"
report card in high school he bought me a puppy.  These are things I am remembering now.  My big brother was special.

Bob and I shared 69 years of marriage . He was very talented and carved many ducks and song birds which enrich our house.
We took our boys on several trips, one which stands out is the trip to Nova Scotia where Bob had many relatives.
He also loved steam engines and we went on many trips,
He made many improvements to our house and everywhere I look there is some of his handiwork. I miss the way he was before Dementia robbed him of his ability to use his skills.

I'll echo my Brother's sentiments, and simply add that he was the consummate family man. I"ll always miss you.

Dad was a gentle and loving person who always made time for family. He was my golfing partner, teacher and mentor. I learned so much from Dad including the importance of honesty and integrity. I miss him greatly.

My Dad was ALWAYS in my corner. To this day I still marvel at how he was able to find the time for his kids, for my Mom,  for himself and his numerous projects around the house. Although it helped that there isn't much overlap between hockey and golf seasons. Miss you already.
