Robert “Jack” McGee, age 95, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 23, 1921 in Omaha Nebraska to parents Robert and Marguerite (Dwyer) McGee. Jack proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Sears after 35 years as a Division Manager. When Jack wasn’t working, he was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and playing golf at Atlas Valley Country Club. Family and friends also enjoyed his culinary skills as Jack delighted all with his world famous fudge and peanut butter cookies. He also enjoyed working in his rose garden and admiring their beauty with his wife Betty, who survives him. Jack was a very romantic man, and he made sure Betty knew how much he loved her every single day of their 73 years together. Jack is also survived by his daughter, Lynn Hampton; grandsons: Rob (Susie) Hallstrand and Christopher (Angie Winford) Hallstrand; great grandchildren: Chase, Avery, Nicholas, Austin, and Allie; nieces: Diane, Kim, Becky and Suzanne; nephew: Michael; special friends and neighbors: Pat and Patty O’Sullivan and Kris and Steve Kuntz. He was preceded in death by both parents, and siblings: Beverly, Marjorie, Michael, Patrick, and Richard. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 3pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc.
