Robert Edwin Borg

BORG, Robert Edwin – age 90 passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11 AM with one hour of visitation prior to at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 12 PM – 2 PM and 4 PM – 8 PM at Brown Funeral Home. Interment will be at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in Grand Blanc, MI. Robert was born on December 13, 1925 in Coon Rapids, MN to the late Gilman and Lillian (Daniels) Borg. Robert served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at General Motors for over 30 years. Robert was an expert woodcrafter and he spent many hours creating unique, beautiful pieces for his family and friends. For over 10 years, Robert drove the bus for the Possessor Senior Group for Bethany Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he loved to ride his tractor plowing his and the neighbor's garden. Robert was a wonderful man that will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters: Lucy (Raymond) Buck and Pamela Stach; grandchildren: Andrew (Amy) Stach, Tiffany (Ron) Gardiner, and Robert (Lisa) Buck; great-grandchildren: Megan Buck, Mitchell Buck, and Madison Gardiner; companion Captola Sullivan; several other loving family members; and close friend Dennis Stach. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Gilman and Lillian Borg; wife: Bettie (Hamp) Borg; and sisters: Doris and Helen. Arrangements under the direction of Brown Funeral Home, Grand Blanc, MI.
