Life long resident of Grand Blanc, died February 19, 2022. Doc was born in 1936 on Hattie Street in the City of Grand Blanc. He married his best friend and love of his life, Margie, in 1973 and they just celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary. Doc and his siblings, raised by his single mom, Mae Taylor, grew up on High Street where the current Grand Blanc City Fire Station now sits. Doc was a man of many talents. He was an independent semi- truck driver for many years. He was a Financial Advisor and Broker. He recently retired from the income tax business that he and Margie started 35 years ago. Doc was active in MADD organization. He served on the Board of Directors at the Grand Blanc Heritage Association and was a member of the Oakland County Chevy Club. Doc was a faithful servant to his Lord and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc where he was an Elder. He also served on the Board of Directors as the Director of Social Ministry, served on the Board of Evangelism, and in earlier years was the designated bus driver for many church activities. Doc loved his cats. All that showed up in his yard became his adopted pets. He loved being outdoors with Margie, spending hours manicuring their beautiful yard and flower gardens. They raised nine children together. It wasn't always the "Brady Bunch" but they have great kids, Tony, Steve, Sue, Karrie (Gary), Matt (Tamera), Mark (Tammy), Shelly (Joe), Joel (Amy), Rick (Terra & Ayden), and wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are sister-in-law Marion Gillies and special cousin Reba Howd and many nieces and nephews. Doc was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Katie, Marg, Bill, and Pete and grandson Kristoph Kaatz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 10:30am-4:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00pm at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Garden for numerous Hydrangeas, St. Jude Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
God's Blessing on all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Ascension, especially Stephanie V. and all the help offered by staff. Special thanks to our daughter in-law Tammy who stood by us with all the latest medical updates.
