KUBIK, Raymond W. – age 93 of Grand Blanc, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his residence. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 1:30PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM. A Rosary Service will take place at 1:30PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church – 7296 Gale Rd. Grand Blanc, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Fr. Michael W. Kuchar celebrant. Burial will take place at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Raymond was born on April 28, 1923 in Flint, MI to the late William J. and Helen A. (Musial) Kubik. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force as a staff sergeant during WWII. He was an aerial gunner and a crew member of a B-24 Heavy Bomber while serving in the 8th Air Force Bomber Group in England. Raymond flew 30 missions over Axis held territory and fired waist guns against enemy fighters under combat conditions. He was also in charge of checking and making repairs to the guns, turrets, and bombs before missions. He married Donna Cecelia Grgich in Flint, MI on September 9, 1950. He was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. Raymond was a member of the American Legion of Grand Blanc Post 413, a life-time member of Dom Polski, and a retired UAW member. Raymond was also a 50 year blood donor to the American Red Cross - Genesee County/Lapeer Chapter and was recently recognized for having donated over 4 gallons of blood. He had a wonderful and unique sense of humor that was especially enjoyed by his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching old westerns, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and taking trips to the casino. He was a wonderful family man and loved the time he spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his loving wife Donna of 66 years; children, Debra K. and (Dr. Richard) Partridge, Judy L. (William W.) King, Susan M. (Philip) Grant, and Barbara A. (Dr. Michael S.) Frey; grandchildren, Kristi, Ryan, Stephanie, Katie, Emily, Megan, Michael, Steven, Andrew, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Evan, Brielle, Jude, Sullivan, Quinn, Jenna, Benjamin, Audrey, and Spencer; sister, Elaine H. Dunsire, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring and dedicated staff at American House of Grand Blanc and Medical Team Hospice.
