Myrtle, affectionately called "June", married George Porritt on August 26, 1972; they shared 51 years together. June was renowned for her strong work ethic, dedicating years to the food industry as a hostess and waitress. She also maintained a spotless home, rising early to care for her family. Garage sales were a passion of June's. She also loved fishing, playing cards, and bingo. She was a true caregiver for anyone in need. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband George; daughters: Linda Lang, Rebecca (Robert) July, Dayna Sanders, and Christine Porritt; stepchildren: Rick (Lisa) Porritt, Cheryl (Dennis) Winiarski, and Michelle Porritt; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; sister-in-law Connie Robbins; best friend of 72 years Tamara Hasty; dear neighbor Faye Hagon; special nephew Mark Robbins, whom she adored; and a host of nieces and nephews. June is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred (Wing) Robbins, and brothers: Allen, William, John, and Samuel.
A memorial gathering for Myrtle (June) will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Following the memorial gathering will be a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
