Michele Racine

RACINE, Michele Ann – age 68 passed away on Wednesday, October 05, 2016 in Grand Blanc, MI surrounded by her family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church – 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI 48439 with one hour of visitation prior to the funeral. Father Gary Koenigsknecht will be celebrating. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2 PM – 8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7 PM at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Michele was born on November 11, 1947 in Flint, MI to the late Lloyd and Beulah (Rickerby) Racine. Michele graduated from Western Michigan University in 1969 with a BS in English and Library Science. During her thirteen year teaching career she taught English and managed the library at Holy Redeemer in Flint, Our Lady of the Lakes in Waterford and Pontiac Catholic Central. In 1981 she joined the staff of the Lake Insurance Agency and soon became office manager, Vice-President and partner with her brother John. She was one of only two women in Genesee County to obtain the CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter) designation. After 31 years as an insurance professional, she retired and became a committed pro-life volunteer with Heartbeat of Greater Flint, which serves the needs of poor expecting mothers and their newborn. Michele will be remembered for her perpetual acts of kindness, compassion and generosity towards those less fortunate. Michele is survived by her children: Jessica Fincher, Mark (Josie) Racine, and Matthew (Kristin) Racine; grandchildren: Alexander, Andrew, and Alana Fincher; siblings: John (Katharine) Racine, Mark (Beth) Racine, Dr. Paul (Sandra) Racine, and Dr. (Tom) Patrice Staiger; sister-in-law: Kim Racine; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lloyd and Beulah Racine and her brother, Tom Racine. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to: Church of the Holy Family 11804 S.
