Mary Anna Satkowiak

SATKOWIAK, Mary Anna – age 93, longtime resident of Grand Blanc, passed away on February 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral mass will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, February 15, 2016 with one hour visitation prior at Holy Family Catholic Church - 11824 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Michigan with Father Gary Koenigsknecht officiating. Interment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery located in Flint, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2-6 P.M., with a Rosary Service at 4 P.M. at Hill Funeral – 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Michigan. Mary was born on February 9, 1923 in Kawkawlin, Michigan to the late Frederick and Anna (LaPan) Cook. Mary enjoyed many things such as sewing, crocheting, bowling, flowers (especially in her garden), and she loved to dance; she was never without a dance partner. She was an extraordinary woman who was apart of many organizations such as 55 and over Group, League of Catholic Women, Holy Family Catholic Church since 1957, and the Red Hat Society. She was a caring, loving woman who enjoyed the joyful family gatherings that were held numerous times each year. In 1941 she married, Ernest E. Satkowiak in Kawkawlin, Michigan, they were married for 58 years. Mary is survived by her children: Gordon (Rosalee) Satkowiak, Madeline Satkowiak, and Priscilla (John) Fernandes; grandchildren: Roxanne (Darrell) Gum, Teresa ( Scott Morris) Satkowiak, Tammy Deardorff, John Satkowiak, Cynthia (Kevin) Adams, John Fernandes, Peter (Marie) Fernandes, Elizabeth Fernandes; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Faye Dean, Alice Rezmer, Margueritte Petrimoulx, and Rita Swierzbin; brother-in-law: Peter Satkowiak; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Satkowiak; parents: Frederick and Anna Cook; grandson: Tracy Satkowiak; one sister and four brothers.
