Margaret Brown

BROWN, Margaret -age 86, of Flint, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 1:00PM at Great Lakes Baptist Temple 2112 E. Maple Rd. Flint, MI 48507. Reverend David Chittenden officiating. Margaret was born in Flint, MI on March 1, 1928 to Al and Blanche (Loomis) Shank. She married Stanford Brown on December 17, 1949 in Flint. She spent her life as a dedicated wife and mother. Margaret was very involved with the church. She taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery, organized funeral luncheons, and crocheted afghans for the missionaries. She was known as “Grandma Brown” to all of the children at Great Lakes Baptist Temple. She was a very loving person and cared deeply for all those around her. Margaret is survived by her children, Andrew (Ellen) Brown, Stanford (Pam) Brown Jr., Arthur (Cindy) Brown, and Carol Brown; grandchildren, Laura, Mary, Becky, Christi, Steffanie, Jennifer, and Korina; 16 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. She will also be greatly missed by her grand-doggies; Mischief, Bagel, Spunky, Rosie, Rocky, Midnight, Bandit, Sugar and her grand-kitty ; Miss Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanford Brown; son, Dennis Brown; and several siblings. Those desiring may make contributions to the Great Lakes Baptist Temple.
