Laura Kenworthy Bowers

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 711 South Saginaw Street, Flint, Michigan, with The Rev. Don Davidson officiating. Visitation with Laura's family will take place at the church immediately following the service.

Laura was born in Flint, Michigan on September 27, 1958, to Watson Kenworthy and Harriet Balzer Kenworthy. She graduated from Flint Central High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and never missed a home basketball game. She went on to complete a Master's degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University. She retired in 2013 after a long executive career with Delphi Automotive and its predecessor divisions of General Motors. Laura was a devoted wife and mother, active in her children's school and leisure activities at Flint Golf Club and Flint Institute of Music. She was a passionate supporter of the City of Flint, the Cultural Center and service to the community. Most recently she was a member of the McFarlan Charitable Corporation Board of Trustees.

Laura is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bruce Bowers of Flint, her son Christopher Bowers of Flint, her daughter Dr. Stephanie Bowers of Dallas, TX and her brother Alan of Peoria, IL. She was preceded in death by both her parents. Contributions in memory of Laura may be made to McFarlan Home, Campaign for the Ages, or Flint School of Performing Arts.
