I worked with Larry for years in the Support Center at VW. He was one of the greatest persons that I have had a privilege of working with.

My sincerest condolences to Larry's family.  I always looked forward to working with and speaking with Larry.  On top of that, he had an amazing skill - I always felt like Larry was really listening and wanted to hear what I had to say.  He had the ability to include people in a conversation. I will miss him.

Larry, you really made a difference even with little contact we had. Your humour, your way of beeing and your perspective of life of have been so special to me. You will be missed so much and ongoing.

I had the pleasure of working with Larry very recently before and during our company conference last May. Larry was always cheerful, positive and a pleasure to work with. Larry was a good friend.  He and I worked together both at Baan and SAP.  Larry was a car guy through and through and I always respected his option and insight during planning and strategy sessions.  We always knew where Larry stood on any discussion point.  His SAP Radio really blossomed into his own after he was a guest on a couple of my shows and I was happy to let him run with a auto dedicated series! I have had the immense pleasure of working with Larry for the past 10 years on the same team. He had a way of always making things right.  I smiled whenever I heard his voice on a call. Words cannot express my sorrow.  I've had the distinct pleasure of working with Larry as a colleague at SAP.  Over the years he's been a great partner, friend and role model for me and countless others.  Larry is one of those people that always saw the best in everyone and was always willing to jump in and help.   He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed!!

Subject: The loss of a great soul... Dear colleagues I write this email with much sadness and still shocked to hear of Larry's passing. My condolences to you all in the loss of a great colleague. Larry was one of my biggest supporters and a mentor to me. Always encouraging me knowing how passionate I am about what I do. We built a great work relationship that extended beyond with our interest in the literary space. He emailed me daily which started with automotive news and always a comment, joke or quote from a great author. This was the start of our engaging chats. He had such a sense of humor and always so witty with his words. On Friday, we exchanged multiple emails discussing BP4Auto, content for his next blog (which he wrote and published on Friday) and best of all his blog from Wednesday in which he mentioned Channel Reach. He wrote a blog about blogging. Such an interesting read! I thanked him for the support and mention and how much I enjoyed reading his blogs. He replied saying writing comes so easy to him that it's difficult to make work of it and that he wrote this blog to encourage some of his colleagues to write more. So, I leave you with this.... Larry was one of the first colleagues I met after I joined SAP. We worked very closely together on an industry analyst event to be held in Dresden, Germany - the first of several opportunities I had to travel and work with him. What to say about a colleague who inspired us, challenged us, and lived every day as an example of what we all can achieve together? Larry was all of those things and more. To me, Larry was all about folksy charm and common sense. He brought significant wisdom and knowledge to the table, but always delivered it with such friendliness and passion. He would catch you up in his vision before you knew what hit you. I was so deeply honored (and very lucky) that Larry was willing to step up as Content Strategy Lead for the Industries presence at SAPPHIRE NOW this year. I'd worked many times over the years when Larry has led up the Discrete Industries presence at that and other events. But this was new level for Larry, and boy was he ready! He truly understood the way that the game has changed with Digital Transformation and brought that to life across our campus and across the event. He brought new innovations and a cross-industry outlook. We had a "Smart Car" in our campus for the first time. I don't think it was coincidental that this happened in the first year he took charge. He took such pride in what we accomplished together, and always gave more credit to the team than to himself. And I'm sure my story is one of so many where Larry worked his magic and brought innovation, ideas, passion and execution together to make great things happen. On a personal note, in working with Larry I truly found a "kindred spirit", someone with a lot of energy, passion and ideas and a desire to have an impact. I know how much Larry enjoyed and appreciated his role on SAPPHIRE NOW. So much so that he announced he would do it again next year before this year was even over. SAPPHIRE NOW will never be the same without him, and I truly want to dedicate our future SAPPHIRE NOW efforts as a team in Larry's memory and Larry's honor. We all need to think about what Larry would do, how he would approach things, and what he would ask of us. That way, he can still have a lasting impact on what we do and how we represent ourselves. Larry was a very special guy. he was a great friend who cared about people, the challenges we faced, the processes we used to position our solutions, and how the content we created was going to be maintained and used by our sales teams. Whatever concerns we had, he brought a positive approach to the process, as well as knowledge and understanding. He often used his quick wit and sense of humor to divert escalating discussions to funny points that created laughter for everybody. This helped to diffuse tense conversations, with the result of getting a point across that was quite important that the team was concerned about. Besides this strength, I will miss his friendship and positive attitude about life he was passionate about work, his family, his children, his friends and his industry. There was always a bright side to all the work and conversations we had, and he helped a lot of different people within SAP experience it everyday. That perspective will be sorely missed by everyone. We are all better people for having known Larry and should try to add a bit of his love of life and people' to our daily routine to keep things in perspective. I will miss seeing and talking with him, he always brightened my day and had something funny to say when we talked. SAP is going to miss him, he was definitely one of a kind', a true car guy' with great knowledge, expertise and passion that was very noticeable in everything he pursued. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, who I am sure are overwhelmed with what has happened. Larry was a mentor, a friend, a leader and very well liked and respected by his peers at SAP. I've known Larry since he joined SAP about 10-11 years ago as one of the near-original solution marketing team, he was always quite clear "I am a car guy" but was committed to the work we did in solution marketing. More recently and after I left solution marketing we worked closely on Sapphire this year, he was really committed, passionate and enthusiastic to delivering a great Sapphire experience and he did just that... and, he looked in very good health too, this makes the news all the more shocking...
