Kenneth Halter – age 88, of Grand Blanc passed away on March 25, 2019 at Brookdale Memory Care. Kenneth was born on October 16, 1930 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to the late Gladwin and Beatrice Halter. He graduated from General Motors Institute with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. He worked at Buick for 40 years. Was a member of Grand Blanc Methodist Church where he served as a lay preacher. He also was Detroit Conference Lay Leader, president of the Flint Jaycee’s, life member of the Flint Masonic Lodge, life member of the Flint Rotary where he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award, and member of Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce. He served as president on both the Buick Retirees and Flint Men’s Retirees. Served as an Army M.P. in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Kosal) Halter; children: Susan and Tony Rizzo of Oxford, Lynda and Jeff Volker of Grand Blanc; grandchildren: Matthew and Lisa Rizzo, Kimberly Rizzo, Joseph Volker, and Thomas Volker who he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his children, Steven Halter and Patti Halter. Special thank you to Brookdale care givers, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Grand Blanc United Methodist Church. Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Grand Blanc United Methodist Church – 515 Bush Ave, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Grand Blanc United Methodist Church or a charity of their choice in memory of Kenneth.
