June Elaine Diehl

June Elaine Diehl, age 95, of Flushing, Michigan passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, after a brief illness at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc. A visitation for June will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. June will be laid to rest in Flint Memorial Park.

June was born in Sault Ste. Marie to parents Herbert and Julia (Monroe) Benedick in 1928 and married Eugene Diehl of Flint in 1948.

June retired from Hallmark Agency in Grand Blanc, where she worked for many years as a secretary. She was an avid fan of Flint hockey teams, beginning as a dedicated season ticket holder for the original Flint Generals of the IHL. She was generous and selfless, and touched many people with her kindness and compassion.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include nieces: Wendy Ehle and family (husband Jerry, who has passed), Laurie (Michael) Katafiasz and family, Paula (Doug) Smith and family; Nancy Somes (husband Cory who has passed) and family; Carol (Robert) VanKirk and family ,and Karen (Eric) Woerner and family; and nephews Steven (Theresa) Benedick and family, Randall Benedick, Eric Deitz and family, Joseph (Michelle) Wamsley and family, and Stephen (Lindsay) Wamsley and family; and sister-in-law Elma Benedick.

June was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Ethel, Shirley and Audrey, her brother Phillip, niece Julia Wamsley and nephew Corydon Somes.
